Colombia, Peru, and Chile have hosted meetings with the GCoM to coordinate national actions among their partners.

Earlier this month (February 2), the first meeting of Colombia’s National Advisory Committee took place at the European Union (EU) Delegation headquarters in Bogotá. The Committee had been formed previously. Representatives from the GCoM Latin America Secretariat, ICLEI, C40, UN-Habitat, FINDETER, WWF, the Ministry of Mines and Energy, and the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development were present. During the meeting, they defined a national strategy and activities for this year, aligning them with existing initiatives in the country.
In Peru, the process is at an earlier stage. On March 5, a coordination meeting was held at the EU Delegation headquarters in Lima to form the country’s Advisory Committee. In addition to the GCoM-LAC Secretariat, participants included the Forum Cities for Life, AMPE, the Ministry of Housing, Construction, and Sanitation, the Ministry of Environment, and the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. Together, these entities identified potential key actors for the formation of the Committee.

In Chile, on March 8, the second meeting of the National Advisory Committee took place at the Ministry of Environment. The national strategy and activities for 2018, developed by the national coordinators Adapt-Chile and AChM, were presented.
