The Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy is pleased to announce its participation in the Latin America and the Caribbean Climate Week 2023 (LACCW23), taking place on October 23 and 24 in Panama City. This representation of the Covenant is of utmost importance and presents an exceptional opportunity to share its experience and actively contribute to climate action in the region.
During LACCW23, the Covenant will be engaged in various activities aimed at promoting climate solutions and strengthening Latin American and Caribbean cities. By bringing together diverse stakeholders, including government representatives, non-governmental organizations, private companies, academic institutions, and civil society, this event fosters collaboration and coordinated action necessary to address the climate crisis in a region particularly vulnerable to the effects of climate change.

LACCW23 is one of four highly relevant regional events to be held this year as part of the preparations for the United Nations Climate Change Conference COP 28 in Dubai and the culmination of the first Global Stocktake, a process designed to chart the path towards meeting key goals of the Paris Agreement. Hosted by the government of Panama, this event plays a crucial role in building momentum and promoting climate action in the Latin America and the Caribbean region.
