Experience Interchanging Permanent Forum continues in the GCoM-LAC
The National Coordinators and Presidents of the National Consultative Committees of the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy in Latin America and the Caribbean (GCoM-LAC) remain in permanent contact in the virtual forum of the program. The forum was created to provide regular interchanging meetings for those players and to improve the institutional strengthening enhancing the program’s promotion.
“Although each country has their specificities the difficulties they experienced are similar. At the same time, we have activities that are implemented at different speeds in each country”, explains Marja Edelman, Coordinator of the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy for Latin America and the Caribbean.
The second session was led by the Cities for Life Forum, one of the national coordinators in Peru. The national network groups 35 institutions from 18 Cities: 13 Municipalities; 8 Universities; 14 civil society organizations. The architect Martha Ferreyros Paredes presented the Local Climate Action Plan Articulation Guide to Institutional Planning and Municipal Public Budget, the theme voted at the last meeting of the Forum.
