Representatives from the governments of more than one hundred localities in Argentina met on February 8 in Rosario for the Assembly of Mayors of the Argentine Network of Municipalities Facing Climate Change (RAMCC). The meeting marks the beginning of the Network’s activities for 2018, establishing actions to be carried out and reviewing what happened in 2017.
International collaborators and civil society organizations also participated in the event. Various climate change-related issues, such as energy efficiency, renewable energies, mobility, and adaptation towards more resilient societies, were discussed.
On this occasion, local managers who participated confirmed their commitment to coordinated climate action at a global level.
Another important point was the launch of a project dissemination platform. The platform consists of a list of climate actions dedicated to local governments to facilitate access to financing. The list is publicly available here.
