During the study visits, Arequipa considered it of utmost importance to learn from the experience of another World Heritage City, such as Granada, and how it has managed to revitalize and make housing, urban infrastructure and mobility more sustainable. At the same time Arequipa was interested in identifying and designing projects in this field to be implemented in the near future with the funds already available for the historic center of the city, which include a loan from the Inter-American Development Bank for the renovation of water sanitation networks.
