Registration open for the 1st GCoM Latam Webinar: “Energy: from diagnosis to plan”
The session will take place on September 30th and will address tools to support cities in diagnosing and planning actions related to energy access and energy poverty
The Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate & Energy in Latin America (GCoM) will hold, on September 30th, 2026, the 1st GCoM Latam Webinar: “Energy: from diagnosis to plan”, a session aimed at municipal teams interested in energy-related issues. Resources and tools will be shared to help identify challenges related to energy access and energy poverty.
The activity is part of the webinar series on the Energy Access and Energy Poverty Pillar and will focus on tools to support cities in energy planning. The objective is to help cities better understand their local realities and identify pathways to plan more effective energy interventions.
During the meeting, tools to support cities’ energy diagnosis, resources available for local planning and experiences that can inspire municipalities in this process will be presented. The central question of the session will be: how can cities identify and plan actions to improve energy access and address energy poverty?
The agenda will be moderated by Rebecca Borges, coordinator of GCoM Latin America, and will include a presentation by Paula Bezerra, Project Officer at the European Commission Joint Research Centre, who will present the energy pillar and the guide “How to develop a climate action plan: Energy access and energy poverty in Brazil.” Letícia Sibinelli, institutional and data advisor at GCoM Latin America, will also participate with a presentation on the “Urban Energy Access Toolkit”, a practical kit designed to support local government teams in identifying indicators and measures throughout their journey on energy access and the fight against energy poverty.
The webinar will also include a space to share the experience of a city in the process of energy diagnosis and planning, followed by closing remarks with key takeaways, available resources, next steps and contact channels for the GCoM Latam Helpdesk.
