On November 28, last Tuesday, the Global Covenant of Mayors for Climate and Energy in Latin America (GCoM-LAC) held the “Coffee for Climate” event as part of the 72nd General Meeting of the National Front of Mayors (FNP) and the 12th Meeting of the Forum of Secretaries of Environment of Brazilian Capitals (CB27). At the meeting, they discussed the participation of municipalities and local governments in achieving broader goals against climate change.
The event brought together representatives and mayors from various Brazilian municipalities with the aim of joining the cities or reaffirming their commitments to the Global Covenant of Mayors. On this important occasion, 33 cities signed the Commitment Letter or reaffirmed their adherence: Aracaju (SE), Belém (PA), Belo Horizonte (MG), Boa Vista (RR), Brasília (DF), Campinas (SP), Campo Grande (MS), Canoas (RS), Cáceres (MT), Cariacica (ES), Curitiba (PR), Curvelo (MG), Florianópolis (SC), Fortaleza (CE), Goiânia (GO), Jaguariúna (SP), João Pessoa (PB), Macapá (AP), Maceió (AL), Manaus (AM), Natal (RN), Niterói (RJ), Palmas (TO), Porto Alegre (RS), Porto Velho (RO), Presidente Prudente (SP), Recife (PE), Rio de Janeiro (RJ), Salvador (BA), São Luís (MA), Uberaba (MG), Vitória (ES), and Igarassu (PE).
