The city

The city of Santiago has been committed to the Global Covenant of Mayors since 2017. By 2030, the city aims to reduce the energy consumption of distributors, for which Energy Efficiency (EE) measures will be adopted, and New Renewable Energy Sources (NCRE) will be incorporated to enable local energy generation. Consumption will be reduced by 30% in the municipal, residential, and commercial sectors. To achieve these goals, energy generation programs and projects will be carried out, focused on different sectors of the commune, such as sports fields, neighborhood councils, neighborhoods, the municipal sector, galleries, institutions, commerce, industries, small, medium, and large consumers, among others, with the aim of considering the identity and peculiarities of each sector.
